Please reach us at office@kremerpsych.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our office is located at 3095 Soperton Drive, Suite 207, Bluffton, SC 29910. We are located in the new office suites located near Bluffton Parkway, behind the Bluffton Courthouse; our office shares the parking lot on the same side as the courthouse. Come on in and have a seat in our waiting room. Your provider will greet you at the time of your appointment. Currently we do not have a receptionist, so check in online to confirm your appointment. Please keep conversations to a minimum in the waiting area as professionals are working in the suite.
All of the therapists at Kremer Psychology hold advanced degrees in psychology or a related field, and are licensed to practice in the state in which they operate. They also have extensive training and experience in various forms of therapy and assessment.
Currently, our primary services include psychological and developmental testing services for children, teens, and young adults. New referrals are accepted for psychological testing by completing the patient inquiry form on the main page. New counseling patients are currently accepted on a case-by-case basis, and only for brief, solution-focused therapy.
We are currently considered OUT OF NETWORK for all psychological services at this time (with exceptions noted below). We are still working on getting paneled for in-network services with additional insurance carriers. Please check back for updates. In addition, please note, educational testing (that is not part of a full diagnostic evaluation) and testing for Kindergarten admission or Gifted Admission is NOT covered by insurance, no matter what insurance provider you use. Insurance does not pay for elective educational testing where there is no clinical diagnosis. If you want to use your insurance, we are happy to refer you to practices who currently accept your insurance. We are also happy to provide a receipt (also know as a "superbill") of any payments you make that can be used to file out-of-network benefits with insurance. These receipts include the necessary information you will need to seek reimbursement on your own.

We will update our website as we network with new insurance carriers. We have several enrollment applications underway.
Our office accepts all forms of payment, including cash, check, credit card, and medical benefits cards (HSA cards).
Payment can be made by cash, check, debit/credit card, or medical/flex spending card (HSA card).
Length of testing depends on the individual needs of the person being tested. Testing sessions are typically scheduled in 2 to 2.5 hour sessions, proceeded by a 1 hour intake appointment and followed by a 1 hour feedback appointment. Testing sessions may be a little shorter or longer depending on the referral needs, and may be spread out into separate days as needed. All testing expectations will be discussed at the time of intake, including estimates for expected duration and cost.
There is no preparation needed for testing. It is best to tell your child that they are meeting with someone who is similar to a teacher to do some tasks and determine their strengths and weaknesses or "how they learn best." With young children/preschool age, you may wish to tell them that we will be doing some fun activities in which they will be answering some questions, working with blocks and puzzles, and looking at pictures.
Please do not tell your child that the psychologist will be deciding if they are going to Kindergarten or getting into a particular school! That is ultimately not the decision of the psychologist.
Psychological testing is a specialized service that requires specific training and expertise. In particular, working with young children providing testing requires experience, additional time, and care. Testing protocols are also expensive. For every hour spent testing face-to-face there are additional hours for the psychologist to score, interpret, and write reports/follow-up.
Generally, if testing consists of an IQ test alone, results are provided within 1 week or less. For full diagnostic, developmental, or psychoeducational evaluations, results are typically provided within 2-3 weeks (after all parent/teacher forms are received). Time may vary by psychologist and on a case-by-case basis; however, your provider will give you a best estimate and is happy to keep you in the loop throughout the process. If you have a tight deadline, please let the psychologist know when scheduling to ensure testing and results can be completed in that timeframe.
A psychologist is a professional trained to assess and treat mental health conditions. This professional attended graduate school and obtained a PhD or PsyD. He/she completed internships and postdoctoral training experiences in order to obtain a license to practice as a psychologist. He/she can provide therapy and/or psychological testing services to patients. In contrast, a psychiatrist is a medical professional who attended medical school and has chosen to specialize in psychiatry, a field focused on treating mental health conditions. These professionals have obtained MDs or other equivalent credentials and can prescribe medication. They generally focus on medication management for complex presentations.
Dr. Kremer is a licensed psychologist who conducts psychological evaluations to make/confirm mental health, developmental, neuropsychological, and/or learning related diagnoses. Based on the evaluation, she refers patients back to their primary care provider, or to a psychiatrist for medication management.
The time for your or your child's appointment is reserved exclusively. If you need to cancel or re-schedule, you should do so by calling the psychologist as soon as you become aware of the need. Testing sessions are often reserved in 2 to 2.5 hour blocks and those times cannot be rebooked without enough notice. Rescheduling will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Repeated cancellations will result in not being scheduled for testing sessions. No-show clients (those that do not show or call) will not be contacted to re-schedule.
